Jan Prins has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Ganz Transformers and Electric Rotating Machines Ltd. The Dutch specialist has more than twenty years of international experience in the field of transformer manufacturing and has been working in Hungary since 2016. The newly appointed executive of the reorganizing company will work mainly to boost export activity.
Ganz Transformers and Electric Rotating Machines Ltd. appointed Jan Prins as the new Chief Executive Officer of the company, effective from August. In addition to managing the plant’s operations, the Dutch expert will also play a significant role in strengthening the transformer business.
Jan Prins has more than two decades of experience in the transformer industry. He graduated as an electrical engineer from the University of Groningen and then worked in Turkey as an R&D engineer at AREVA Turkey. He then continued his career at the company’s research center in France and afterwards returned to Turkey, where he worked as a sales manager. He joined Compton Greaves in 2008, where he worked as a business development and sales manager in Belgium. From 2013 to 2016, he was President Director of CG Indonesia, where he managed a turnaround to increase efficiency and to improve profitability. In 2016, he started as business General Manager for the Power Transformer and Steel factory of CG Electric Systems Hungary Zrt. After the liquidation of the former Ganz successor, Jan Prins will continue to work on the reinforcement of the Ganz brand, now under the auspices of Ganz Transformers and Electric Rotating Machines Ltd.

In his more than twenty years of career in this industry, he has always admired the history of the company and the high quality work of the engineers working for it. The newly appointed CEO added that the company is facing a major challenge as it has had to deal with several economic difficulties in recent years, but the reorganization opens up plenty of opportunities for the Ganz brand.
