Ganz Transformers and Electric Rotating Machines Ltd. has successfully participated in another significant international tender. The domestically owned company has manufactured two 50 MVA and one 25 MVA transformers for Spain-based ACCIONA Energía with a total worth of over two million euros. Ganz won the public tender this May, which was announced by the renowned enterprise in the field of renewable energy. The three transformers are expected to be delivered in March 2022 following successful Factory Acceptance Tests in November 2021.

Ganz Transformers and Electric Rotating Machines Ltd. has manufactured three special transformers for ACCIONA Energía, the Spanish renewable energy giant, the delivery for which is expected in March 2022. As part of the order worth more than two million euros, the Hungarian company will deliver two transformers with a capacity of 50 MVA and one with a capacity of 25 MVA. The transformers have an operation voltage of 220/30 kV and are all mineral oil-cooled. Ganz was informed about the Acciona tender on the Tenders Electronic Daily (TED) interface and was able to participate in the tender with strict prerequisites. Following a complex evaluation process, the two companies finally signed a contract in May 2021. The decisive factor in the tender was the quality of the application and the short delivery time, both provided by Ganz.

ACCIONA Energía is one of the world’s largest renewable energy companies, with more than 11 GW renewables installed in 16 countries. Listed in the Spanish Stock Exchange since July 2021 (BME:ANE), the Spanish enterprise stands out in terms of both sustainability and profitability. ACCIONA Energía plans to build a photovoltaic power plant near Almendralejo in the province of Badajoz (Spain), for which the company announced a tender for the production of the three transformers, won by Ganz Transformer and Electric Rotating Machines Ltd.

The project is of key importance for Ganz Transformers and Electric Rotating Machines Ltd., as the goal of the Hungarian company is to strengthen its position in the international market, especially in Europe. In addition to the Spanish ACCIONA Energía and the Danish Fjernvarme Fyn, the Hungarian heavy machinery manufacturer has been continuously manufacturing and successfully exporting custom equipment for customers in Romania, Belgium, Sweded, France, Germany, Ireland, and Saudi Arabia.

Tamás Enyedi, sales and project manager of Ganz Transformers and Electric Rotating Machines Ltd. said that the agreement with ACCIONA Energía is one of the biggest successes of Ganz since their 2020 relaunch, as it is an extremely well-known company in Spain and on a global scale. Both ACCIONA Energía and Ganz are committed to high quality, which is why the cooperation is significant for the domestic company.

Jan Prins, CEO of Ganz Transformer and Electric Rotating Machines Ltd. said that the project is an outstanding part of the strategic goal, to boost the export business of the company and to strengthen the international recognition of the Ganz brand. The Dutch expert added that the current collaboration is also special in the sense that they can deliver their unique and prime products to a giant company that is known worldwide for its sustainability approach. All of this is extremely important for Ganz: through their machinery, they want to take an active part in the spread of renewable energy, thus contributing to the green turn of the energy economy.
